The Consortium
This is a mono-beneficiary project. As one of INBRAIN’s parent institutes and a company stakeholder, ICN2 qualifies as an Affiliated Entity. ICN2 brings critical know-how that would be vital for the implementation of this project.
INBRAIN Neuroelectronics
INBRAIN Neuroelectronics is a spin off from the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) dedicated to the development of neuroelectronic therapies through graphene-based, high-resolution neural interfaces, with unprecedented stimulating and recording capabilities for the treatment of neurological disorders.
Our research has become an icon of the Graphene Flagship, where our scientific team led the biomedical technologies work packages. INBRAIN owns the rights to a joint basic patent application between ICN2 and the University of Manchester (National Graphene Institute, headed by Nobel Prize winners Geim and Novoselov). Now we want to bring this technology to the market and become the world’s reference neuroelectronic interface company to treat brain related disorders.
The INBRAIN team combines experts leading the EU GRAPHENE flagship with executives from leading medical device companies.
The Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology
The Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) is a non-profit research foundation, and one of the centres of the CERCA Institution. Its mission is to achieve scientific and technological excellence in the fields of nanotechnology and nanoscience. ICN2’s excellence has been recognized by the Spanish Government with the award of the prestigious Severo Ochoa Centre of Excellence accreditation (2014-2018, 2018-2022).
